Felted Crane for Japan-- Mercy Corps

The felted crane pattern is available for free many places including here at this website (click on PATTERN PDF on the right of the screen under LINKS), on Ravelry, as well as in several books. However, due to the number of emails that I have received regarding the project in the wake of the recent tragedies in Japan, I have placed the pattern for sale on Ravelry, all proceeds from your donation to benefit Mercy Corps:

Please also consider knitting up these sweet cranes to sell to benefit the relief effort, or if you would like to begin your own knitnotwar 1,o0o project by organizing knitters to knit 1,000 cranes, or for more information, please write me-- Seann McKeel: knitnotwar@gmail.com

Finished single cranes are beautiful when hung with a strand of yarn and some simple beads, or in a small stranded flock...if you are making cranes to sell for Mercy Corps please do send photos to me, I will place them on this website. To donate directly to the relief effort, visit Mercy Corps at:

Peace and prayer,
Seann

A hoist can be manually or electrically operated, it can also be pneumatically driven using a chain and wire/fiber rope as lifting medium.
